Back to School Ideas for Speech!
It’s getting to be that time of year. Whether you are excited or dreading the return to school (I’m a little bit of both), it’s nice to have a few fun and easy-to-use activities in your back-to-school bag of tricks. Keep reading for some back-to-school speech therapy ideas that you and your students will like.
I love this Speech Therapy planner from Busy Bee Speech. I’ve used this for several years now to keep track of evaluations, birthdays, parent contacts, daily/weekly lesson plans, and much more. A good planner helps me so much at the beginning of the school year to set up important dates, and themes for the year.
This fun ice breaker activity is a great back-to-school idea that gets kids talking and laughing. “Would you rather have blue toes or blue hair?” Kids love these silly questions. I like how these questions get kids thinking and interacting in the classroom and in speech therapy.
Here’s another fun back-to-school speech therapy idea – Back to School Bingo! This bingo set has 24 bingo boards and includes picture and riddle calling cards. Use this in a full classroom or in a smaller getting to know you speech therapy group activity. Great for back-to-school vocabulary, school supplies, listening skills, and inferencing.
